Darts never in danger

Enfield Town 0-3 Dartford

TWO first-half headed goals put Darts in the box seat in their quest for Premier Division football next season.

The afternoon was overcast and, later, subjected to rain but Darts' were back to their sparkling best in front of a season's best home gate.

Darts welcomed returning Jay May and Mark Green replaced Phil Williams, while newcomer Luke Piscina took a seat on the bench.

Enfield Town started with a neat left-side move, but Darts countered immediately with a Green run and cross up the left which put the visitors in control.

Within three minutes Darts were in front when John Guest was first to a Junior Kadi free-kick and looped a header over home keeper Charlie Hasler.

The medicine was repeated just before the half hour when, from further out, Kadi found the marauding Adam Flanagan, who headed downwards and into the net.

All the trademark moves from the Dartford playbook were on show as combination plays, overlaps, interchanges, long throws and all the rest kept the crowd entertained.

From the half-hour mark, it was foot off the pedal time for the Darts.

After the break Rudi Hall rattled the Darts crossbar and Ozzie Foster headed the rebound over, but this was all the hosts achieved.

Ryan Hayes had fun down the right and Darts passed up the chance to add more goals when the non-stop winger laid on a series of chances.

Just after the hour mark, mounting Town frustration bubbled over when Kofi Nyamah was red-carded for raised hands following a nothing scuffle for the ball.

Hayes delivered a neat ball from the resultant free-kick and Jamie Coyle completed the scoring with a neat right-footer from close in.

There remained time for three substitutions, enabling the travelling Darts' fans to run the rule over newcomer Piscina.

Dartford: Kessell, Coyle, Norman, Flanagan, Guest, O'Brien (Lewis), Hayes (Williams), Kadi, Cass (Piscina), May, Green. Subs not used: Moore, Osborne. Att: 516
