Gravesend League: Treble joy for Nanak
The all-conquering Guru Nanak second string
The all-conquering Guru Nanak second string

GURU Nanak Reserves completed their treble by lifting the Presidents Cup with a 2-0 victory against Premier Division outfit Ace of Clubs.

Having already won the Division One title and the League Cup A, Guru Nanak's second string went into this clash against higher league opponents full of confidence.

A goal from Hardev Dale gave them an interval advantage, but Ace were dealt some bad luck after the break when Joe Owen sustained a suspected broken ankle.

After a 17 minute delay, the injured player was transported to hospital.

The game finally resumed and the outcome was put beyond doubt when Armadip Singh sealed the win with three minutes remaining.

Referee Lee Culpeck and his officials brought an end a fine sporting game which really deserved more goals.

Heathview United were playing in the final of the coveted Kent Junior Cup Group C at the Corinthians ground against a strong Charlton Athletic Community team.

Charlton went in front, but Alan King's header from a corner put the Gravesend League side back on terms.

The Addicks restored their advantage before a moment of controversy when Heathview had a second equaliser ruled out.

Dave Collard had a glorious opportunity to make it 2-2 in the final minute when he found himself clear with an open goal at his mercy, but he put his shot skywards over the bar and with it went their chances of lifting the trophy.

Last season's Premier Division champions Viewpoint were at home to leaders Lullingstone Castle at the AEI ground.

Viewpoint, who are in second place, had a real battle with the Lullies, and snatched the only goal of the game in the second half.

They won a free-kick 20 yards from their own goal, which was hit long.

Dave Goodwin got a touch to score and take Viewpoint within two points of Lullingstone at the top.

With two games in hand on their rivals, Viewpoint need just three points to take the title again.

Culverstone United were at home to Waterloo in a Division Two encounter and the hosts took a 2-0 lead in the first half through John Knott and Dave Morris.

Waterloo, who are in second spot in the table, came back strongly after the break and drew level thanks to a brace from Chris Rosa.

However, Morris matched his effort for Culverstone with his second of the game to secure a 3-2 win in a match well refereed by Glen Rideout.

Despite the loss, Waterloo still take the runners-up spot with 45 points.

Earl Grey were at home to Stone C & I at Kings Farm and held a narrow lead at half-time thanks to Aaron Spencer.

Stone were awarded a penalty in the second half, which Billy Kingwell converted, and the same player turned the game on its head with a late winner.

Meanwhile, the Gravesend League B squad to face Sevenoaks & District League B in an inter-league match at Corinthians FC in Fawkham (7.30pm) on May 7 has been confirmed.

Gravesend League B: Lee Barrass (Craggs Farm Reserves), Nathan Taylor (Viewpoint Reserves), Paul Ellis (Heathview United), Allan King (Heathview United), Paul Haylock (Meopham), Dan Jones (Heathview United), Steve Baker (Swan Valley), Mark Holden (Craggs Farm Reserves), Billy Kingwell (Stone C&I), Lee Collard (Heathview United), Graham Runham (Swan Valley), William Friend (Guru Nanak Reserves), Gary Witcomb (Meopham), Jack Ashby (Stone C&I), Ian Saunders (Earl Grey).
