BROMLEY are poised to sign David Obaze in the next 48 hours after the central defender impressed in last night's 3-2 win against Colchester.
The 18-year-old, who was released in the summer by Southend United, played 25 minutes of the Colchester match and manager Mark Goldberg says he liked what he saw.
He revealed: "He did very well and I would like to have him on board because he will strengthen our defensive options, the one area I still feel we need strengthening in.
"David is a youngster who is 6ft5in tall. Having come from Southend, he will be a quality addition at this level."
Bromley ensured they remained undefeated against League opposition last night in an entertaining game against League One Colchester.
Tony Joseph, Danny Hockton and Nic McDonnell were all on target for the Lillywhites and the manager was delighted with the contribution of his forwards, singling out McDonnell for special praise.
He said: "It was an exciting match for the fans and we competed extremely well.
"We looked dangerous every time we went on the attack and produced the majority of the creative football.
"I'm pleased with the way all of the strikers are taking chances and I thought Nic McDonnell was outstanding.
"He is an extraordinary player at this level and will be a real asset this season."
Bromley head to Eastbourne Borough on Saturday and Goldberg will be without Jerome Sobers (abdominal muscle strain) and Jay May (leg).
"Eastbourne is going to be a very tough test for us because they are stepping up a level, but the perfect test a week before the start of the season," added the manager.
