Dolke sings Goldberg's praises
Lillies owner Jerry Dolke is backing Mark Goldberg to deliver full-time football at Hayes Lane
Lillies owner Jerry Dolke is backing Mark Goldberg to deliver full-time football at Hayes Lane

BROMLEY FC chairman Jerry Dolke says returning manager Mark Goldberg is the right man to take the club to the next level.

Goldberg is back in charge after a six-month break from the role and Mr Dolke is predicting the Lillywhites can continue the progress they made during his first spell in the dugout.

Mr Dolke said: "We are one level away from the Conference and full-time football and Mark has already shown with the success he had before he is the person who can deliver it here.

"He brings a tremendous amount of drive and ambition and the ability to attract players who normally would not consider Bromley."

Mr Dolke put the club up for sale last month and says it remains on the market despite Goldberg's decision to come back.

He said: "Bromley is a success both on and off the pitch with our own freehold on the ground in one of the best boroughs in London.

"It is a great opportunity for someone to come in and take the club forward.

"The business infrastructure we have with the bar and five-a-side pitches is already here and the club is an attractive proposition.

"Mark accepts if new people come in then he might not necessarily be flavour of the month with them, but I strongly believe he is the right manager to take the club forward."

Meanwhile, Goldberg will hold another set of meetings with his existing squad later this week where he hopes to agree terms with the majority of them for the forthcoming campaign.

The manager said: "Tutu Henriques has already agreed to stay and there will be a series of meetings in the next few days with other players I've already spoken to.

"These are second meetings following initial discussions, so this is when I will be hoping to tie people down.

"I think people will wait to see what kind of squad we have at the start of the season before they pass any judgement on me."

As a big fan of Bromley Football Club and a great admirer of Mr. Dolke, I would just like to question one of his comments. We believe, here at the Civic Centre, that Bromley is not "one of the best boroughs in London" but, the Best.

Will either John or Angela be able to fully commit to Bromley Football Club next season and attend a few more games?

Would like to point out to Mr Carr that we are fully committed and have proved this by travelling far and wide to demonstrate our support - regularly staying overnight. We are looking forward to a sucessfull season and are pleased to see Mark back in charge.

Mark Goldberg is by far the best man for the job at this time. He has the club's best interest's at heart, being a supporter, and offers us some stability for the coming sason. Welcome back Mark.

Well said, Steve of Penge.
How do we see the team shaping up and what are our chances next season? Will Sam be missed?
"acting or done or recurring uniformly or calculably in time or manner; habitual, constant, orderly"
So Ange, just how regular?

As clockwork. I also think it is important if you attend a match that you don't leave early and indeed are there at the start. A match lasts at least 90 minutes and I don't believe you can honestly state you were there without hearing all the whistles.

Yes, yes, yes. But who is holding the silverware?
And more importantly, what about next season? Who do we want to see at Hayes Lane(playing)
Oh, just out of interest Ange, what did you think of the Dripping Pan?

For next season I would like to see some more consistent play. Dripping Pan? - Preferred Bishop Sto, B'stoke, H & R and of course .....Dorchester
:-P

Ange, time to call a truce!
You are correct. We need to be more consistent. I would like to see us being a little more physical. We seem to be too easily hassled off the ball!
