DARTFORD manager Tony Burman has admitted anything can happen when his side travel to north Kent neighbours rivals Ebbsfleet in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round on Saturday.

The boss was speaking after his side won a thrilling league encounter 4-3 against bottom of the table Hyde at Princes Park to extend their unbeaten run to three games.

Ebbsfleet also go into the match in good form having won six games on the bounce and Burman is looking forward to an exciting cup-tie.

He said: “It’s cup football, it will give us the break from the league.

“Anything can happen on the day, just like it has against Hyde.

“You don’t know when to blink sometimes - it has happened for us recently and hopefully it will on Saturday.”

Despite the fact Dartford are a league above Ebbsfleet, the Princes Park boss does not believe it will have a major impact on the day.

He explained: “The underdog sometimes wins, sometimes they lose.

“They are full of good players who have played at higher levels.

“But we’re getting it together and also have some very good players.”

The winner of the tie will go into the draw for the first round of the FA Cup, the stage League One and League Two teams enter the competition, and pocket a very useful £12,500 in prize money.

Burman said: “Players, fans, the club directors - we all like the FA Cup.

“It’s something you can try new things in and have a go with.

“The prize money is important for any club, but it’s not about that, it’s the FA Cup, it’s about getting noticed and being in the limelight.”

The game will be the first time Ebbsfleet boss Steve Brown has experienced the north Kent derby, whereas his opposite number has plenty of experience of the fixture.

Burman added: “It’s his first one, I’ve had many.

“It’s a different type of game and is something to look forward to.”

The Darts were without a number of players against Hyde and the Ebbsfleet match could see some key personnel return to the side.

However, they will be without Hyde hat-trick hero Matt Godden who is not available for selection under the terms of his loan from Scunthorpe.

The boss said: “Elliot Bradbook will be back in the reckoning after suspension.

“Kenny Clark and Jason Prior have a chance of being fit.

“Tyrone Sterling is out and Adam Birchall will be cup-tied so even if he is fit, he can’t play.”

The game at Stonebridge Road kicks off at 3pm on Saturday.
