Huddersfield centre Michael Lawrence will be sidelined for between four and five weeks with an ankle injury.
The 19-year-old Lawrence limped off five minutes into the Giants' 26-20 win over Leeds on Sunday amid fears that he had suffered serious injury.
"There is no fracture but it is a bad sprain and it will be four or five weeks before he is likely to return," said a club spokesman.
New Zealander Paul Whatuira, who missed Sunday's game with a hamstring injury, is set to take Lawrence's place for Saturday's trip to Harlequins.
