Lee Bowyer has guided Charlton into the top six in just three games – it’s fair to say he’s been a revelation so far.

Recent form under Karl Robinson had not been good enough with his style of play and unwillingness to change formation allowing teams to control games and easily stop Charlton from creating anything.

Since Bowyer replaced Robinson last month, he’s taken nine points out of nine, we’ve dominated teams and scored for fun... what more can you ask for? Bowyer being an old Charlton boy has got fans on side, and along with Johnnie Jackson, has brought back pride to the club.

If we look around the clubs in the country, there are not many teams who have a club legend in charge. Charlton have a history with Sir Chrissy Powell and now Lee, Lee, Lee Bowyer, but the only other team now in this position is Millwall under the leadership of Neil Harris.

Harris is a Millwall legend who led the Lions from League One into the Championship and by some miracle, they are now possibly going to be in the play-offs. It pains me as a Charlton fan to say this, but he’s done an excellent job.

There is still a strong chance of Charlton making the League One play-offs and I believe that Bowyer, if given the job on a full-time basis, could equal or even eclipse Harris’ success with Millwall in under a season with the correct financial support.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding the takeover, the future currently looks bright for Charlton and I am looking forward to the Bristol Rovers game to see if we can make it four wins on the bounce. Up the Addicks!
