Millwall are sweating on the fitness of Tom Elliott ahead of their clash with Norwich on Saturday.

The striker suffered an ankle injury in the Lions’ midweek Carabao Cup defeat to Reading.

Elliott limped off after being substituted in the 66th minute.

Millwall boss Neil Harris said: “We will have to see how he progresses over the next 48 hours.

“He has had a huge impact, either off the bench or starting matches for us.

“We hope he will be 100 per cent fit and the call to include him will most likely be made just before kick-off.”

Elliott has made a blistering start to his Millwall career, scoring three times since his summer move to the Den.

And his potential absence on Saturday will come as a huge blow to the Lions, who are still searching for their first league win of the season.

Millwall played 120 minutes against Reading after taking the tie to extra time.

Harris added: “Going to extra time wasn't ideal.

“We had a few knocks, bruises and tired legs after that match. It'll be a case of waiting to see how everyone pulls through ahead of Saturday.

“The boys are hungry for this one. When you look at the fixtures, this is one of the ones that stands out and everyone wants to be involved.

“Norwich will bring a big following and we need our fans to turn up on Saturday, be the extra man and keep up that outstanding support.”
