Millwall produced their first clean sheet of the Sky Bet Championship season against a Bristol City team favoured to win at Ashton Gate today.

The Lions had an unusually high number of corners in the first half with 11 - and 16 in total - but struggled to hit the target in another game with several attempts at goal.

Jed Wallace forced a save out of Frank Fielding on 69 minutes in one of Millwall's best chances of the game, before Fred Onyedinma and George Saville challenged the Bristol shot-stopper again in injury time.

However, the game finished goalless as Jordan Archer secured his first clean sheet of the season.

Here is how News Shopper rated Millwall’s players…

Jordan Archer – 7 - Looked like he put the error behind him on Tuesday and had confidence in both himself and his defence when Millwall needed him most, especially given how many passes were given to him with onrushing Bristol attackers.

Conor McLaughlin – 8 – Grew into the game despite not dealing with the danger of Bristol down his side early in the first half and one of his best performances of the season, difficult choice between him and Hutchinson for man of the match.

Shaun Hutchinson – 9 – Solid game, dealt with danger when called upon. Was the first of the two centre halves on most occasions in meeting Bristol’s attack.

Byron Webster – 7 - Grew into the game in the second half and was able to build on the first 45 and his partnership with Hutchinson. Looked calm and assured as usual.

James Meredith – 7- Hardly put a foot wrong in either half, and as a result Bristol did not threaten too much.

Jed Wallace - 7 – Had attempts on goal, particularly on 669 minutes in forcing Fielding into a save, and brought a save out of Fielding but it was McLaughlin who looked a bigger threat in the final third.

Shaun Williams – 7 - Protected the back four adequately with intelligence and awareness, did the simple things well.

George Saville – 6 - Demanded more of a presence in midfield and engaged further afield but Morison and Gregory probably could have done with his influence in the final third.

Aiden O’Brien – 6 - Created little, if anything other than an early effort on goal before being replaced on the hour by Fred Onyedinma.

Steve Morison – 6 - Cut a frustrated figure most of the game and lost out in aerial duels during the second half he probably could have won, probably annoyed because he has been creating scoring chances rather than scoring them?

Lee Gregory – 6 - Tried to take his chances but was met with two uncompromising defenders all game in Baker and Wright. Bristol’s defence played really well in fairness to him but probably should have been taken off earlier.
