Two second-half goals from Tom Elliott saw Millwall beat Stevenage 2-0 in the first-round of the Carabao Cup.

It was a relatively comfortable evening for the Lions, who were rarely troubled by the League Two club.

Elliott has given Millwall boss Neil Harris something to think about ahead of their league game with Bolton on Saturday.

Here is how News Shopper rated Millwall’s players…

Tom King - 7 - Good double save to thwart Chris Whelpdale and Matthew Godden in the first-half. Fantastic distribution, too. A solid back-up keeper to Jordan Archer.

Mahlon Romeo - 7 - Always provides bags of energy running up and down the right. A comfortable night for the youngster.

Byron Webster - 7 - Needed to impress having lost his place in the first-team at Forest, and did so. A dominating display from the big man.

Jake Cooper - 5 - Had an early header saved by Joe Fryer. Went off injured in the 35th minute.

Tony Craig - 6 - Caught out a couple of times with players running in-behind him. But coped well in the second-half.

David Worrall - 7 - Looked dangerous on the right wing, but his delivery from set-pieces could've been better.

Ben Thompson - 5 - Gave the ball away too many times and was overrun in midfield. He’ll have better games.

George Saville - 6 - Kept things ticking nicely, and started off most attacks with his sharp and precise passing.

Shane Ferguson - 6 - Didn't do too much to affect the game. Moved to left-back when Cooper went off injured and was more comfortable there.

Fred Onyedinma - 7 - Assisted Elliott’s goal with a clever dinked cross. Playing up front and then on the wing, he didn't give Stevenage’s back-line a minute’s rest.

Tom Elliott - 9 - Millwall’s biggest threat on the night. Making his first start for the club, Elliott won virtually everything in the air and linked play well. Was in the right place at the right time to head home his two goals. Man of the match.
