Neil Harris bemoaned the decision to disallow Steve Morison’s goal in Millwall’s 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest.

The Lions dominated the game from start to finish, and fell behind to a Barrie McKay wonder goal in the 41st minute.

But Millwall striker Morison had the ball in the back of the net in the latter stages of the second-half, however, referee Peter Bankes blew his whistle for an apparent off-the-ball foul by Lee Gregory.

Harris said: “The referee said it was a foul from Gregory on the goalkeeper. I’ve watched it back, it’s momentum both ways - if anything - the goalkeeper runs into Greggers.

“Greggers is going for the ball, if he’s going to give fouls like that, he’s going to have to give us a dozen penalties. Every goal-kick, they were over Steve Morison and he didn't give a foul.

“All we ask for is consistency. Sky Sports and our analysts have all said it’s a goal, not everyone can be wrong.”

Gregory, Morison, George Saville, Jed Wallace and Aiden O’Brien were all guilty of missing golden chances at the City Ground.

Morison hit the crossbar, while Gregory missed an open goal.

Harris added: “It’s disappointing because we've dominated a game of football against a good Nottingham Forest side for nigh on the whole game and been beaten by a good goal.

“We could've come off winning by six or seven goals.

“My players executed the game plan perfectly, it was a really strong performance.

“You have to be clinical at this level and the next one, you have to. I said to the players that it was a good performance, and we need to be more ruthless.”
