Millwall ended their pre-season in the perfect way as goals from Jed Wallace, Shaun Williams and Aiden O’Brien earned them a comfortable 3-0 win against Granada.
Wallace opening the scoring midway through the first-half with a well taken free-kick and two goals in as many minutes from Williams and O’Brien put the result beyond their Spanish opponents.
Here is how News Shopper rated Millwall’s players…
Jordan Archer - 6 - Had very little to do. Made a sharp save just before the interval and smartly denied Diaz in the second period. Will have busier games this season, that’s for sure.
Conor McLaughlin - 6 - Defensively looked solid, but did not offer much going forward.
Shaun Hutchinson - 7 - Another impressive display by the big man. Him and Webster seem extremely comfortable next to each other. Made countless amounts of clearances.
Byron Webster - 7 - Nearly scored from inside his own half, landed on the roof of the net. Won every header.
James Meredith - 7 - Tried to get forward whenever possible and when he did, looked extremely dangerous. Showed plenty of energy.
Jed Wallace - 8 - A goal and an assist. Another eye-catching display. His stunning free-kick set the tone and superbly set up O’Brien for the third.
Shaun Williams - 8 - Won the ball back on numerous occasions. Work rate was second-to-none. Put in an impressive shift for his side and capped off a fine display with a goal.
George Saville - 5 - Sloppy with his passing, seemed like the game passed him by at times.
Aiden O’Brien - 8 - Fantastic run and piece of skill in the opening minutes set the tone. Looked lively and wanted to beat the full-back every time he got a chance. Him and Meredith seem to have a great understanding with each other. Man of the match.
Lee Gregory - 5 - Offered very little going forward, struggled to have any sort of impact on the game. Looked frustrated.
Steve Morison - 7 - Hold up play was excellent, but struggled to link-up with Gregory as much as he would have liked to. Brought O’Brien and Wallace into play with his flick-ons. Did not stop running all afternoon.
