Neil Harris heaped praise on summer signing Jed Wallace in their goalless draw against Stevenage at the Lamex Stadium.

The 23-year-old was a constant threat down the right and Harris was keen to point that out.

He told News Shopper: “There were some excellent individual performances and I thought some players looked really sharp. Jed looked excellent. He looked the best he has so far and better tonight than he did the whole of last season, so that’s a positive.”

Wallace joined Millwall from Wolves at the end of June after a successful loan spell at The Den last season and started their League One play-off final win at Wembley against Bradford City.

Millwall were halted by an in-form Joe Fryer in the Stevenage goal in their stalemate, but Harris says he isn’t worried about their lack of goals in pre-season.

He added: “I thought Saturday we looked very pre-season, but today we were a lot sharper and looked very dangerous on the ball.

“The only thing lacking was the final product. Their keeper was excellent, he made some great saves and to be honest, we should’ve scored six or seven. We played Lincoln while I was away and should have had six or seven and a Portuguese team where we could have had twelve. The goals will come.”

The Lions play their final pre-season game against Spanish outfit Granada on Saturday, before travelling to Nottingham Forest a week on Friday in their Championship opener.
