Gillingham have signed former Millwall winger Lee Martin on a two-year deal.

The ex-Manchester United trainee only made 11 appearances for the Lions last season and was sent out on loan to Northampton Town in January.

Martin, who joined Millwall in 2013, was one of several first-team players to be released by Neil Harris at the end of the 2015/16 campaign.

But the former Ipswich Town player has found a new club in League One Gillingham.

Martin said: “I’m delighted to be here. I spoke to a lot of the players, especially Josh Wright and the manager, and they were both brilliant.

“The manager and I hit it off straight away – he sold the club to me.

“He’s got a lot of ideas about the season ahead, he wants me to show my experience in the changing room and help the other lads.”

Millwall face League One rivals Gillingham at the Den on December 31 and visit the Priestfield Stadium in April.
