MK Dons have confirmed a two-year deal for released Millwall midfielder Ed Upson.

The 26-year-old, who joined the Lions in January 2014, was one of seven players to be released by Neil Harris following the end of the season.

Former England U19 player Upson made 68 league appearances for the Lions and will now join MK Dons when his contract at the Den expires in July.

MK Dons suffered relegation from the Championship last season, along with Bolton and Millwall’s local rivals Charlton.

Upson said: “It’s brilliant to be here.

“I’ve admired the club for a long time now, I know a few of the boys and the manager made me feel wanted.

“I’m really looking forward to meeting everyone and I can’t wait to get going.”

MK Dons boss Karl Robinson said: “I tried to sign Ed before but unfortunately it wasn’t possible to get a deal done at the time.

“He had offers to go back to the Championship so I’m delighted he’s decided to join us and I look forward to working with him.

“He’s the type of player that will suit our style very well, is the perfect age and has very good experience.”
