Millwall missed out on promotion to the Championship at the weekend after losing 3-1 to Barnsley in the play-off final at Wembley.
Ashley Fletcher rifled a shot past Jordan Archer after only 88 seconds to give the Tykes an early lead.
And Barnsley doubled their advantage on 19 minutes as Adam Hammill unleashed an unstoppable strike into the top corner.
Defender Mark Beevers halved the deficit with a rare goal 10 minutes before half-time, but the Lions’ fate was sealed when Lloyd Isgrove’s header flew into a vacant goal.
