Tony Craig says super-fan Harvey Brown, who led Millwall out at Wembley, is a credit to the club.

Harvey was Millwall’s mascot in Sunday’s League One play-off final against Barnsley and led the team out with skipper Craig.

Millwall FC were a driving force in supporting the campaign to ensure Harvey and 77 other Morquio sufferers in the UK received vital medication Vimizim.

Over 10,000 people signed an online petition calling for support and the club also joined Harvey in delivering letters to Downing Street.

The campaign was given the green light last November and Harvey has been ever-present at Millwall since.

When asked by News Shopper what it was like to join-up with Harvey to lead the teams out, Craig said: “The club does a lot of stuff for Harvey off the pitch.

“Him and his family are a credit and if we can help them in any way then great because for him it was a really special moment.”

Goals from Ashley Fletcher, Adam Hammill and Lloyd Isgrove ensured Barnsley’s promotion from League One at the expense of Millwall.

Despite the defeat, defender Craig insisted there were many positives to take from the season.

The 31-year-old said: “We have to go again, that’s what we have to do. We’ve got to pick ourselves up and dust ourselves down.

“At the start of the season a lot of newspapers put us mid-table so in that aspect it’s been a very successful season but unfortunately we fell at the final hurdle.

“There’s a lot of young talent in that squad and it will be a great experience for them. The future is certainly bright for this club.”
