Well that's it. Another nine months following the Lions is almost up. Unlike last season, I've not wanted this one to end.

Don't get me wrong, away trips to Fleetwood and Port Vale were hardly likely to get the pulses racing, but finally it's enjoyable watching Millwall again.

Admittedly, the start of the campaign wasn't what many had hoped for or expected. The early form was poor and our continued inability to win at the Den was cause for concern yet again.

Slowly but surely though, Neil Harris has developed a team which has battled it's way into promotion contention.

I'm the first to admit I hate the play-offs, but to be in with a chance of bouncing back to the Championship at the first time of asking is great testament to what Harris and co have achieved.

Last weekend's final fixture away at Gillingham highlighted the turnaround in the fortunes of both clubs.

The Gills' 3-0 win at the Den back in December left them sitting pretty at the top of League One and us floundering in mid-table.

Fast forward five months, and it's us who have booked a play-off date with Bradford City while the Kent side are consigned to another season in the third tier. Funny old game, eh?

Lee Gregory's 98th minute penalty could well prove to be a pivotal moment in shaping the outcome of the semi-final.

News Shopper:

A fourth-placed finish ensures the Bantams have to come to south London on a Friday night for the second leg. If the atmosphere is anything like Huddersfield experienced in 2010, they could be in for a tough night.

Of course, this does rely on the Lions' picking up a decent result at Valley Parade at the weekend.

Just one goal separated the two sides during the regular season, and everything points to an edgy double-header over the next ten days.

It wouldn't be Millwall without the powers-that-be making it as hard as possible for travelling supporters to actually get to the first leg on time.

A 12.15 kick off on Sunday and no trains from London arriving in Bradford until midday means some supporters will have to make alternative plans - although I can't imagine staying in Bradford will be top of many people's wish lists.

I've said before that I don't like making predictions and this tie is really too tough to call, but I do have an inkling that the winners of this fixture will probably go on to Wembley glory.

Whatever the result, at least we have our Millwall back.

And hey, even if we don't go up, we still have our guaranteed six points against Charlton to look forward to next year...
