A host of clubs are set to rival reigning Premier League champions Chelsea in the race to sign Millwall prospect Christian Mbulu, reports say.
The highly-rated defender, who signed his first professional contract in the summer, was linked with Chelsea last week.
Mbulu, 19, is yet to make an appearance for the Millwall first-team but featured on the club’s bench for their League One clash with Doncaster at the end of last month.
The teenager, who has been compared with Manchester United’s Chris Smalling, is rated highly by the hierarchy at the Den.
HITC Sport say that Chelsea are not alone in tracking Mbulu, with fellow top flights clubs Crystal Palace, Watford and Swansea also monitoring the youngster.
The former Brentwood Town star has impressed for the U21 side and is understood to see his future at Millwall despite substantial interest.
