Millwall have clinched the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Area Quarter-Final Team of the Round award after a five star performance against Plymouth Argyle.

Four-goal hero Lee Gregory grabbed the headlines in his side’s 5-3 victory, while Aiden O’Brien also got on the scoresheet for the away side in a thrilling tie at Home Park.

The victory for Neil Harris’ side was made all the more impressive by Plymouth’s scintillating league form.

As well as a trophy to mark their team of the round performance, Millwall have also been given a donation of Johnstone’s Paint which The Lions have elected to donate to one of their charity partners.

Manager Harris said: “It was a great performance from the team and we are thrilled to have been rewarded with the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Team of the Round award.

“To score five goals away from home against any team is always a great achievement, but to do so against a Plymouth side high on confidence was even more impressive.

“Hopefully we can use that result as a building block for our Area Semi-Final tie away at Southend United and progress further in the competition.”

Millwall were shortlisted for the prize along with Yeovil Town and Morecambe, who both produced impressive performances in their Area Quarter-Final ties.

Richard Mazurkiewicz, marketing manager of Johnstone’s Trade, said: “There were some fantastic performances in the Area Quarter-Finals of the tenth Johnstone’s Paint Trophy and it was a tough decision for the judges to make.

“Millwall were certainly worthy winners of the accolade considering Plymouth’s form going into the encounter. Neil Harris’ side stamped their authority on the game with five impressive goals and a standout performance from Lee Gregory.

“We congratulate Millwall on their success and hope their supply of Johnstone’s Paint is well received.”
