I have to admit, as I approached The Den for Saturday's clash with Bradford City, I was overcome with a sudden sense of dread.

Whether it was the hangover from the night before, my 'glass-half-empty' attitude to Millwall in recent years - or a combination of both - for some reason I fully expected our good form to come shuddering to a halt.

Thoughts turned to last season's FA Cup third round meeting with the Bantams, who romped to a comfortable 4-0 win in the replay up at Valley Parade.

Bradford are the ronseal of League One - what you see is what you get.

Big, physical, always looking for the out ball up to James Hanson - not particularly pleasing on the eye, but effective.

Much of the pre-match build up was focused on the aforementioned Hanson, who turned down a move to the Den in the summer.

The big frontman told local press in Yorkshire he expected a less-than-friendly welcome from us nasty lot in SE16. In reality, he needn't have worried.

The abuse he got, as I far as I can recall, was nonexistent.

There's been many a player to turn us down, James. You're not the first and you won't be the last.

The centre-back pairing of Tony Craig and Mark Beevers did well to nullify the threat of Hanson throughout - the skipper making a superb last-ditch block early in the second half to deny a certain goal.

News Shopper:

As 0-0 draws go, it was OK - more a war of attrition than a footballing masterclass.

What I found most encouraging was a Millwall team willing to get stuck in and slog out a hard-fought point - something we lacked the last time the two teams met under the previous manager (he-who-shall-not-be-named).

There were a few disgruntled murmurs at full-time.

The verdict on social media afterwards seemed to be split into two camps: one pleased with the point and the other who saw it as two points dropped.

There was even a comment from someone stating Harris was out of his depth and should be sacked.

We all know Harris is relatively inexperienced and will make the odd tactical mistake, but come on, get a grip…

Saturday wasn't the best, but it certainly wasn't the worst. Let's all just remember where we were this time last year, eh?

News Shopper:

This weekend sees a return to FA Cup action, albeit at the first round stage, with an intriguing encounter against AFC Fylde.

I'll plead ignorance by admitting I have no idea who or what AFC Fylde are?

To the best of my knowledge, they currently play in the Conference North and is the town where one of my work colleagues’ dad comes from. That about covers it.

I won't be in attendance unfortunately, but I fully expect a 15-0 win and a double hat-trick from Lee Gregory. If not, then… HARRIS OUT!
