NEIL Harris declared himself pleased with an away point in Cardiff as Millwall moved within four points of safety.

The Lions recored their second clean sheet in a week after a goalless draw against the Bluebirds, having had the better of the chances in south Wales.

And with Rotherham facing a possible three-point deduction, Harris feels it could be a “good point” that his side earned at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Speaking to the assembled press after the draw, Harris said: “I thought we deserved the points. My team were outstanding in the second half.

“We created numerous opportunities to get into good positions, we created some chances to score and we tweaked it slightly at half-time to get higher up the pitch to create even more.

“I think as you could see the players took it on board and it worked.

“That’s why we tweaked it at half-time and in the second half I asked them for a little bit more, not necessarily energy and things like that, but for a little bit more quality.

“We moved the ball slightly differently and it worked, so credit to the players.

“It was just that final little bit of quality that was missing but it could be a good point. The players are pleased.”

Mark Beevers saw an effort thunder off the crossbar and bounce just in front of the line before substitute Gary Taylor Fletcher had arguably Millwall’s best chance.

Ricardo Fuller picked out his fellow substitute with a reverse square ball from just inside the area, but the veteran forward, who was 12-yards out, didn't get clean contact and the chance was wasted.

Harris said the Lions loanee was annoyed after the miss, but praised the impact of all his substitutes.

“Gaz is disappointed obviously, that he didn't score, as are a few of the boys that had chances.

“I said to them: 'The pleasing thing is we are getting chances and creating them'.

“I thought the two boys that came on made a difference up front, Ricardo and Gaz, as has Magaye Gueye as of late.

"So they were positive chances and I think if we got one, we would have had two or three.”

Harris also declared the Lions are back in with a shout of survival regardless of whether Rotherham United could get docked points for fielding an ineligible player.

“The good thing is we are back in the mix,” the manager explained.

“A points deduction will certainly aid us, that’s obvious, but we can't control that, we just have to look at ourselves.”
