Millwall supporters are being offered the chance to form a team and take on fans of Belgian side Royal Antwerp in a friendly football match.

The game will take place in Belgium on Sunday 17 May, with a coach leaving The Den the day beforehand.

Royal Antwerp FC are in serious financial trouble due to owing millions of Euros to a former chairman and it is not yet clear if they will even be allowed to compete in the Belgian second division next year.

May’s friendly between the two sets of fans will raise funds for the campaign to keep the club alive and any Millwall fan who wants to play or attend is being urged to contact organiser Joe Pizarro.

He told News Shopper: “The match came about through a long standing friendship between both sets of supporters and will be used to raise funds for Royal Antwerp FC.

“Antwerp has some fantastic night life and we would like to get as many Lions fans out there as possible to cheer on the boys and support the cause.

“A coach will depart The Den 6am the day before and supporters wishing to play or attend as spectators should drop me an email at j.pizarro1981@hotmail.com”
