Double win for Bexley
TWO teams representing Bexley under-16 District Netball Club have enjoyed success at the Kent District tournament in Rainham.
It was the first time Bexley had entered the competition and both the A and B teams remained unbeaten on the day to win their respective divisions.
The success is the culmination of months of hard work preparing for the event.
Trials were held at Trinity School in Erith Road, Belvedere, last October where 26 girls from an initial entry of 45 were selected on their fitness, game play and ball skills.
The girls trained twice a month up until March where they were put through another selection process where the 26 were whittled down to 16 to form the A and B squads.
Head coach Natalie Rendle said: "All the girls live and attend school in the Bexley area.
"For both to go and win this tournament at the first time of entering is an achievement, but to do it without losing a game is exceptional and is a credit to their hard work."
