The successful GT-UK team.

A TEAM of six students from the GT-UK Taekwon Do club in Beckenham including their instructor Martin Noddings attended the recent British championships in Stratford-upon-Avon.

After a very long day of competition, the team emerged successfully with no less then seven medals between them.

Josh Showell won a gold in the patterns and narrowly missed out on a medal in the sparring.

Hazel Durston collected a silver in the patterns of the very competitive ladies category.

Blaize Henry claimed gold in the patterns and came away with a silver in the sparring.

Ian McKenna won a gold in the sparring and Martin Noddings won a gold in both the patterns and sparring in the black belt category.

A delighted Noddings said: "I am extremely proud of everyone who went to the tournament whether they won medals or not.

"It's about turning up and trying.

"We have an excellent club atmosphere where people have fun learning an effective martial art and it's great to be able to prove the quality of our training on a national stage."
