Experience tells in SLKPA
THERE is no substitute for experience and the adage was evident this week in the South London & Kent Pool Alliance (SLKPA).
Established teams such as The George IV B and The Kings Arms put the newer league entrants to the sword in the tier two of the west division.
The George ran riot at home to The Mitre, only dropping a single frame in their three sets to nil victory, while The Kings Arms recorded the same set score against the Billet Busters from Greenwich.
Geoff Evans and inter-league captain Martyn Wallace led the charge for The Kings Arms, each accumulating three frames, although Wallace's trio may have been a little fortuitous.
The good luck ran out for Steve Reed in his attempt join them on three wins as he could only manage two.
The Gallies team from The Antigallican in Charlton got their season off to a splendid start at The Woodman with a 3-0 win.
It was a similar story as The Coach & Horses swept aside Woolwich Catholic Club 3-0 to keep their 100 percent record intact.
Next week sees the start of the newly-formed Elite League along with the tier two east division as the SLKPA summer season really swings into life.
Teams are always welcome into the league and friendlies can easily be arranged for any new teams considering playing in the SLKPA on Thursday evenings.
