Coldharbour plans for busy summer
ENGLAND fans dreading a summer without the Three Lions in Euro 2008 can put their blues behind them by entering a football team in a midweek league.
Coldharbour Leisure Centre in New Eltham are inviting 11-a-side teams to sign up for the competition, which will run between June and August.
As well as the football competition, there will be a number of other sporting events taking place at the Chapel Farm Road venue in June.
The United Nations netball tournament will be held on June 7, with the all-day competition giving players the chance to represent the country of their, or their parents' birthplace.
As well as the netball, there will also be catering from many continents, music, exhibitions, face painting and a steel band with the event seeking to unify and strengthen the community through sport and the celebration of heritage.
The annual Greenwich hockey festival will also take place on the same weekend on June 7 and June 8.
This is a well renowned contest which has a men's, women's and veterans' competition, played over two days.
To find out more about the facilities and sporting festivals throughout the summer at the venue, call 020 8851 8692, or visit in person at Coldharbour Leisure Centre, Chapel Farm Road, New Eltham SE9 3LX.
