BROMLEY community groups are being invited to get involved with Crystal Palace FC’s community day, which takes place on the opening day of the new season.

Watford are the visitors at Selhurst Park as the Championship campaign gets underway on August 18 and the Eagles are determined to get as many church groups, schools, sports clubs, charities, neighbours and other Bromley organisations involved on the day.

Palace marketing manager Sharon Lacey said: “Football is the world’s biggest game and Premier League stars now have pop star status but Crystal Palace FC is all about keeping football local.

“South London and Proud is the strapline used by the club in its marketing and represents all that Palace fans stand for.

“As well as discounted tickets there will be a host of activity going on in and around the stadium before kick-off at 3pm, including displays by community groups, plenty of food and drink, entertainers and give-aways.

“The day is sure to have a wonderful summer atmosphere.”

For more information on Crystal Palace’s community day, or to get involved, call Sharon Lacey on 020 8768 6000.
