CRAY Wanderers U16s have repeated last year’s treble success by securing three trophies for the second consecutive season.

The boys won the Kent youth league central division, Kent youth league cup and Kent county cup as U15s and defended all three honours at U16 level.

Rusthall were put to the sword in both cup finals in 2012, with Alfie Pavey, Ashley Long and Harry Fenner on target in a 3-1 league cup triumph and Pavey, Charley Robertson and Jack Sullivan scoring in a 3-2 county cup win.

A Ross Bassan brace in a 2-0 victory over Bridon Ropes wrapped up the title as Cray finished six points clear of their closest rivals.

Cray, who are managed by Welling United skipper Jack Parkinson and his assistants Colin Ball and John Norton, played 44 games in all competitions, scoring 214 times in the process and keeping 28 clean sheets.

The regular season was followed by a visit to Porto in Portugal where they enjoyed consecutive wins over Pacos De Ferrier U21s academy (3-0), SC Freamunde (1-0), Sporting Lisbon (3-2) and Rio Ave (4-0).

And the Wands’ success on the pitch hasn’t gone unnoticed as captain Sean Rowson has been snapped up on a two-year scholarship by League One Crawley Town.
