BECKENHAM Town crashed out of the Kent Senior Trophy after Saturday’s shock 2-1 extra-time defeat at the hands of Kent Invicta League side Hollands & Blair.
Leading through a Chris Edwards goal with just 30 seconds of the match remaining, were left rocked by a last gasp equaliser for Blair from Mick Smith.
And Becks paid the ultimate penalty for allowing the home side back into the match when Cliff Eldridge scored what proved to be the winner six minutes into extra-time.
Boss Jason Huntley said: “It has been a strange season for us in cup competitions.
“Apart from the Worthing replay in the FA Cup, we haven’t been beaten in 90 minutes by anyone, all our cup exits have been in extra-time.
“Nevertheless, I’m very disappointed to have lost a game which we were expected to and should have won.”
Becks entertain second from bottom Deal Town at Eden Park Avenue in the league on Saturday at 3pm.
Next Tuesday evening Beckenham travel to VCD Athletic for the second leg of the Premier Division Cup with a narrow 2-1 advantage.
