HOLDERS Viewpoint crashed out in the quarter-final of the Gordon Charity Cup when they suffered a penalty shootout defeat at the hands of Craggs Farm.

The game finished 2-2 after extra-time, but it was Craggs who held their nerve by winning 4-3 on spot kicks.

Viewpont’s second string led twice through Steve Coyne and Sean Harris in their quarter-final at NK Aces.

However, Paul Sandhu (2), Terry Woollen (pen) and Jamie Hoyle secured a 4-2 victory for the Aces.

Robin Taws scored the only goal of the game as The Old Prince of Orange overcame Culverstone United.

Goals from Ian Treadway, player-manager Lewis Spencer and Adam Watkins booked Earl Grey’s place in the final of the Dampier Palmer Cup with a 3-1 win over Ash Green.

Group B of the Presidents Cup saw Craggs Farm Reserves host Lullingstone Castle at the AEI ground.

In an end-to-end game where both defences were on top form, chances to break the deadlock were few and far between.

It was left to Craggs’ Marc Rowe to find a way through when he scored the only goal of the game.

Victory means Craggs Farm Reserves have qualified for knockout stage of the competition, while Lullies need something from their final game in the group.

Group C saw The Rising Eagles at home to Horton Kirby at Kings Farm.

Eagles had the better of the first half, going 4-0 in front with goals from Ben Giles (2) and Brad Cross (2).

Kirby came into the game more in the second half but failed to score, although they held out the Eagles to just one more goal, scored by Marc Milton, for the 5-0 win.

Eagles qualify as group winners with Bean as runners-up.

In Division One, Woodlands Athletic took the chance to close the gap on NK Aces, who were on cup duty.

They were at home to Stone C&I at Swanscombe and took a 2-0 lead through Darren Gowler and Karl Daly.

Playing some excellent football, Woodlands raced 4-0 in front after Daly’s second and substitute Chris Aldous’s header, his first goal for seven years.

With five minutes remaining, Stone pulled one back through Billy Kingwell with a fine shot into the top corner, 4-1 being the final score.

Bean and Peacock Celtic had a fine game for the first 30 minutes, each scoring a goal apiece.

Tim Edwins was on target for Peacock and Gareth Williams for Bean.

It was Bean who took over in the second half, taking into a 3-1 lead thanks to Dayoola Dada and Craig Deamer (pen).triumph and a move up one place in the table to fifth for his side.

Fleetdown United B are now nine points clear at the top of Division Two from Earl Grey after a 6-1 success at Joydens Wood.

Dom Falzon (2), Joe Bignell, Ross Copley, Andy Hunter and Chris Cantone did the damage for the leaders, while Joydens’ sole reply came courtesy of Ross Howe.

There was no shortage of goal action in the meeting between Fleetway Printers and Oakfield.

Scott Matthews was in devastating form for Oakfield, hitting four of their tally in a 6-2 win with the others coming from Steve Walborn and an own goal.

It was actually 2-2 at the break with Scott Taylor and David Dell keeping the Printers firmly in contention at the midway point before Oakfield ran away with it.

John Allwright (2) and Darrel Walsh could not prevent Luke Batchelor’s Meopham Reserves going down 5-3 at the hands of Real Man of Kent at Judson’s Rec.

AZ 82 opened the scoring after five minutes at home to AFC Welsh Tavern Reserves through Tom Curtin.

A cracking volley from Tavern’s Lewis Bevan on his 21st birthday restored parity before Alex Pilgrim made it 2-1 to the Taverners.

Tom Dixon added a third before the break and Tavern raced into a 6-1 in the second half thanks to Yemi Ibidunni (2) and Ben Leech.

AZ made a good comeback and scored two more goals from Billy French and Ranjit Bhachu for a final score of 6-3 to Welsh Tavern Reserves who are up to third in the table.
