BROMLEY boss Mark Goldberg has slightly lifted the lid on why duo Harry Harding and Warren McBean were allowed to leave the club on Monday.

Both players were shown the door for "different reasons" according to the manager and Goldberg revealed team spirit was taking a blow while they were at the club.

"It was a mixture of keeping within the budget and having to balance the books, but also maybe a few disruptions to the squad and spirit of the camp," revealed the gaffer.

"At the end of the day, the spirit sometimes beats individuals and what we had was starting to be a few individuals thinking they were above it - I wasn't prepared to tolerate that.

"Warren McBean is different, he's an individual but I don't want to say too much. We believe team spirit will see us through without them."

And the boss revealed money issues were also a significant factor to their departures.

"We just don't have the pleasure of Warren on the bench anymore because we can't afford to have players like that not playing," admitted Goldberg.

"Both of them have been released for different reasons, but they both would have done a better job against Hampton than what was done.

"It's not fair on the players and everybody at the club to give reasons on why they left, and it's very easy to point at the fact that certain players are no longer here - we've got to work within the budget restrictions that we have.

"I'd rather the club was commercially sound than throwing silly money at the situation."
