Lillies chief frustrated to miss out on Newport point

BROMLEY boss Mark Goldberg feels his side were unlucky not to pick up at least a share of the spoils from Saturday’s 3-2 home defeat by Newport.

He explained: “Obviously I am disappointed with the result. I always thought we were capable of scoring in the first half.

“We created openings but our final ball wasn’t good enough.

“At half-time, I really enforced to the players they have got to start believing in themselves."

Goldberg added: "In the second half we were much more positive and despite the chances we created, we went 2-0 down.

“But I still saw the belief in the players and we all believed we could get back into the game, despite the score and the opponents.

“When we got back to 2-2, we thought we could go on and win it, but we conceded a goal immediately after scoring an equaliser.

“That really upset our momentum but I always thought we could get an equaliser, right until the end of the game.

“We’ll recover and pick ourselves up and go into Saturday’s game against Dorchester Town with confidence.”
