Lionesses make double swoop

Millwall Lionesses have completed a double deal by snapping up two new players.

Keeper Francesca Gibbs has joined from Chelsea, while full-back Ellie Manning signed up having previously played at Charlton.

Gibbs said: “I’m really excited to have signed for Millwall, they are a young team with top quality management. “I hope I can add to the great setup that is already in place and that we can build on getting the performances and results the club needs.”

Millwall Lionesses manager Alberto Kurti added: “I am very happy both of the players have agread to come and play for the Lionesses, their qualities and experience will add strength to the squad.

“Francesca and Ellie made their debuts against Tottenham, impressing me and the coaching staff.

“They have settled into the team and I am looking forward to working with both players as they continue their careers at our club.”
