11:38am Tuesday 31st January 2012 in Millwall By Paul Green
Millwall manager Kenny Jackett swooped to sign Wolves striker Andy Keogh for an undisclosed fee this morning.
The Republic of Ireland international penned a two-and-a-half-year deal at The Den on transfer deadline day and is available if selected to make his debut in Saturday’s London derby at West Ham.
Keogh spent 24 games on loan with Championship rivals Leeds United this season, scoring twice during his temporary stay at Elland Road.
But the 25-year-old is hoping his permanent switch to the Lions will boost his chances of winning a place in Ireland’s Euro 2012 squad, where he could be joined by Millwall keeper David Forde.
Keogh said: “I already know Fordey of course and Darren Ward from his time at Wolves.
“Millwall are an ambitious club with passionate fans and I’m delighted to be joining them.
“I’m sure I’ll settle in quickly and hopefully can play my part in helping the team become successful.
“I’m now looking forward to moving down with my family, getting settled and start concentrating on my football again.”
