Lions chief out to finally get better of Seagulls

KENNY Jackett is determined Millwall will put an end to their poor run of results against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.

The Seagulls must wish they could play the Lions every week after a succession of impressive results against Millwall over the years.

But Jackett is out to banish the hoodoo at the Withdean this Saturday as Millwall chase their third straight win in the space of the week.

He said: “I don’t know why we’ve had so many poor results against Brighton.

“I’ve got to admit though my own record against Oldham hasn’t been too good and yet we’ve beaten them twice this year, so at least that has changed for the better.

“But our record against Brighton hasn’t been good and it is a bout time it changed.

“It wasn’t a happy hunting ground for us last year because it felt like it was the wettest place in the world and we let in four goals, so we are looking to do a bit better than that.”

Jackett added: “Brighton are fighting for their lives down at the bottle of the table.

“They’ve got some good players and I don’t know why it hasn’t maybe quite happened for them so far this year because they’ve certainly had investment recently.

“I’m looking forward to the game because we had a good away win at Oldham last Saturday and I’m looking for us to build on that result and Tuesday’s win over Southend.”
