PHIL Parkinson has admitted Swansea City were the Championship side who expressed an initial interest in Yassin Moutaouakil.
The former French U21 international defender has been surplus to requirements in SE7 for some time and the Addicks were desperate to get him off the wage bill again after his return from Motherwell last month.
Parkinson today confirmed Swansea had been a possible destination after the Welsh side made an early enquiry, although they failed to follow it up ahead of the transfer window closing on Monday.
“That didn’t materialise,” the Addicks boss said.
“There was interest from Swansea about Yassin but it didn’t materialise.
“We put several calls in to Swansea but ultimately if they want a player, they’ve got my number, they’ve got the chairman’s number and they’ve got Steve Waggott’s number.
“The call just didn’t come in, so Yassin is still with us.”
