VALLEY trialist striker Adamo Coulibaly has returned to France despite Chris Powell suggesting after Saturday's game at Portsmouth he would like to open negotiations with the player's representatives.

The 31-year-old was given another hour to impress in Saturday’s 3-0 success at Pompey following his performance at AFC Wimbledon three days earlier.

Charlton manager Powell said after the final whistle at Fratton Park he would be talking to Coulibaly's agent.

“He’s come in for the week and we said we’d give him a couple of games,” the gaffer said.

“We'll have discussions with his representatives and take it from there.”

However, the player returned to France yesterday at the end of his one-week trial and it now looks highly unlikely those planned discussions will take place, meaning the search for Yann Kermorgant's strike partner continues.
