A YOUNG Charlton side were made to work hard for a draw with a resilient Bromley.

Bromley looked determined to get at their young opposition from the off and Elliott Buchanan was soon brought down by Harry Lennon at the start of what had a looked like a promising attack.

The next 20 minutes became the Fox and Jordan show, as Morgan Fox and Bradley Jordan were at the heart of the Charlton’s play as the half wore on.

Left-back Fox had clearly been told to stick to the left touchline and his first cross from there found Azeez in the area, who headed down to the on-rushing Jordan who tapped home.

However, the ball was adjudged to have gone out of play in the build-up.

The same two combined again minutes later, with Fox delivering another outstanding cross which was headed wide by Azeez again.

Just as it looked as if the Addicks were gaining the momentum in a tight contest, the home side went ahead in bizarre fashion.

Visiting keeper Nick Pope threw the ball out to Oliver Muldoon, who was dispossessed by Pierre Joseph-Dubois.

The Bromley winger laid a pass into the path of Mullings who could hardly miss and Charlton found themselves a goal down.

Tobi Sho-Silva and Diego Poyet tested George Howard in the Bromley goal, but both efforts lacked any real power as the first half petered out.

The second half started quietly with no real action to note as both sides sparred with one another.

But almost out of nowhere, Charlton were level after their first attack of the half.

Jordan Cousins picked up possession in the centre and found Sho-Silva dashing down the right.

The pacey forward’s cross found Muldoon who made no mistake with the finish to draw his side level.

Soon after, Jordan and Sho-Silva both tried their luck again but were foiled by Howard.

News Shopper: Bradley Jordan

Substitutions aplenty followed and just as it looked like the game had calmed down, Charlton had a man sent off.

Harry Lennon was deemed to have used an elbow when challenging for a ball in the air and was given his marching orders by the referee after consultation with his assistant.

Bromley had chances to make their man advantage count but failed to do so.

Alex Bentley fluffed his lines when he was given space on the edge of the area and a last-gasp corner for the home side also came to nothing.

This was another good workout for the Addicks youngsters against determined opposition, but Charlton will feel they could have won the game when it was 11 v 11.
