Non-league rookie on trial with Addicks

A FORMER Lewisham College student has landed a dream one week trial with Charlton Athletic.
Fabio Saraiva, 18, is currently on the books of Ryman League outfit Merstham who he scored nine times for in 39 appearances last season.
The left-footed defender can also play in midfield and Merstham manager Hayden Bird believes the youngster has a bright future ahead of him in the game.
He told News Shopper: “Fabio’s biggest strength is his attitude. He has just come back from Cyprus where he had a few trials.
“It didn’t quite happen for him there but now he is having another crack at it with Charlton.
“I’ve no doubt Fabio will go on to have a very good football career.
“He has signed for Merstham but his situation is I will let him go if a pro club comes in for him.”
