Millwall Lionesses have won their battle to remain in the southern division next season following Plymouth Argyle Ladies’ 2-1 defeat at the hands of Portsmouth FC Ladies.
With any lingering relegation fears finally put to bed, Millwall manager Alberto Kurti is looking to the future and progressing the Lionesses to the top of the league.
He said: “I’m thrilled Millwall Lionesses will be staying up.
“We had a tough beginning this season when we had to start from scratch with a new team, but following a lot of hard work and dedication the squad’s talent has shone through and we are in a much stronger place.
“I am very proud of the team and they deserve to stay in the southern division.
“As a club we are looking forward to attacking the new season and reinstating ourselves as a force to be reckoned with in women’s football.”
