JASON Euell is set to discover where he will finish the season once his current loan spell with Wimbledon comes to an end this weekend.

The vastly experienced attacking midfielder was allowed to join the League Two side by Charlton in an initial one-month move in January, which was extended for a second month in February.

But with that deal soon to expire Valley boss Chris Powell admits all parties are keeping their options for now.

The Addicks chief said: “Jason’s loan is up after this Saturday’s game so there will be discussions between myself and Wimbledon to see whether they want to carry it on or I can call him back because it is 28 days.

“It is very similar with Paul Hayes and Gary Doherty, they are both until the end of the season but after 28 days I can recall them, which is next week after the Tuesday games.

“I do have that up my sleeve that I can get them back if needed and the benefit of that is they are up to match pace so if anything happens here I can always recall them.”

Euell said when he switched to the Dons he still wanted to play a role in Charlton’s promotion bid and Powell added that could still end up happening.

“Of course he can because he is our player,” the manager explained.

“He has gone out to Wimbledon and it has been very up down with regards to games because of the weather.

“Jason got injured in the first game but he played the other night, which is good for him, and they got a positive result.

“But we will have to wait and see how they feel and how he feels.

“He might want to stay, he might want to come back, he might not have any option because I might recall him back.

“I know that option is always there for us to call him back, similarly with Paul Hayes and Gary Doherty.

“They are both playing regularly and have had some good results with Wycombe and one or two defeats.

“They are OK and of course they are our players and if I need them to come back and start a game, be on the bench or just bolster the squad I’ll have to do that because they are our players and if I need more players here for our run in I’ll do that.

“There are seven days for us to look at possible ins and outs or whether we will do anything.

“My priority at the moment is Scunthorpe and then Yeovil on Tuesday, but it will be a busy week ahead with the two games and the possibility of loaning in or loaning out.”

But Powell conceded he would probably be reluctant to let any more members of his squad leave before the window shuts.

He added: “I’m kind of thinking where we are at after next Thursday you cannot do a thing - you can’t get any free agents, you cannot move for anyone.

“Like most managers you want as many players as you can for any mishaps, injuries or suspensions, so it is highly unlikely (there will be players moving on), but you never know.

“I would rather keep my players here and have the ability to recall players after 28 days because then it is a win-win.

“If I send them out then I can’t call them back and as everyone knows this is the real business end, the results end of the season.”
