PHIL Parkinson has revealed he will meet with Charlton’s new owners in the coming week to properly discuss their future plans.

The Addicks boss admitted opportunities to talk business with Tony Jimenez and Michael Slater, who completed their takeover of the club yesterday, have been limited due to the busy fixture schedule.

But Parky intends to have his first serious conversations with the duo once the Reds’ contest at home to Swindon on Monday is out of the way.

He said after the 3-3 draw with Colchester: “I’ve had a brief chat with Tony but I’ll be meeting the new chairman after the game on Monday.

“Obviously with so many games at the moment it’s been difficult and the team were in a hotel last night, so we just wanted to get these games out of the way and then I look forward to sitting down with them.

“The initial chat I’ve had with Tony indicated that he wants to help me build this squad and get us out of this division so it’s all been positive.”

Parkinson was also quick to praise former supremo Richard Murray, whose efforts to keep Charlton out of administration allowed Jimenez and Slater to take over on New Year's Eve.

He added: “Richard has done a fantastic job at the club and he’s still going to be involved which is great news but in the very difficult times over the last couple of years I don’t think the supporters realise how tough it’s been.

“But he’s kept the club afloat and the reputation of the club firmly intact so it’s good that he’s still involved along with Peter Varney.”
