The Wands begin the first of three successive home games in different competitions on Saturday as Molesey face Cray for the first time in the league since February 2008.  Kick off is at 3pm

If like me you are fed up with the greed and corruption at the highest level of football right now then why not recommend your family and friends to come down and watch some high quality football at minimal cost and see how the game should be played and conducted.

There has been some very good games already at Hayes Lane this season and Saturday’s promises to be no exception as two sides on the back of two straight league wins look to continue this mini burst of form.  This is the first of seven scheduled home games in October and you feel good home form could well be decisive come the end of the season.

The wins at Godalming and Horsham were notable for Cray having to show a resilient side to their nature after setbacks during the games and on Tuesday night, Karl Dent’s excellent stoppage time winner capped a great team performance and moved Cray up to seventh in the league table. Notable mentions to Karl and to Solomon Taiwo in particular who had tremendous games down in Sussex on Tuesday and skipper Lea Dawson has twice in recent games got Cray back on terms when defeat looked possible.

Our opponents on Saturday, Steve Webb’s Molesey have had a good week too with home wins against Chipstead and most impressively ending Tooting and Mitcham United’s unbeaten run with two Stafforde Palmer free kicks moving them up to 11th in the table, five points behind Cray.

Followers of Cray since the Isthmian League days may remember games against the Surrey side as Molesey were established members of the Isthmian League for many years.   They first met Cray in league competition in 2004 in Division One of the Isthmian League before the restructuring of the league.  They were relegated to the Combined Counties Premier in 2008 where they remained until 2014-15 when they were promoted as champions.  Last season, their first back in the Ryman South they finished a highly creditable ninth place.

It promises to be another fine game tomorrow and could help you restore your faith in football in a difficult week.

Admission costs £10.00 adults, £4.00 concessions/U16s/Students on presentation of card.

Cray are also in action on Wednesday evening (5/10/16) in the Kent Senior Cup when they host the holders Dartford, 7.45pm ko.  This will be followed on Sunday, 9th October in the FA Trophy at home to Carshalton Athletic, with a 3pm kick off.
