Pierre Dubois-Joseph's brace helped Welling end their bad home run with victory over Eastbourne Borough.

Clever work from Adam Coombes created the first goal threat but he was unable to get a shot away until the angle was tight and his effort flew into the side netting.

Some more good football from Welling followed when Lyle Della-Verde combined with Pierre Joseph-Dubois before finding Coombes. His deft flick gave Danny Waldren time to flick it up but his volley went wide.

Coombes was the architect of the next move playing into Della-Verde who moved it on to Joseph-Dubois. He chose to shoot into a crowd with Dean Morgan well placed.

There was a warning for Welling when Miguel Baptista was released in space but Chris Lewington was out bravely to dive at his feet.

Della-Verde was again the architect with a delightful run and ball into Ali Fuseini but he was also unable to find the target with a twenty yarder.

Eventually, they broke the deadlock on the break. Elliott Romain's shot was saved by Lewington and a quick counter attack ended with Dubois-Joseph firing beyond Lewis Carey and into the far corner.

Despite continual probing, Welling were unable to create a clear cut chance and got caught out when failing to win a ball in the middle. Baptista found plenty of space down the right wing and crossed deep for Craig McAllister to head home at the far post.

More problems came Welling's way when McAllister was given time to turn and fire a shot past Lewington but Jordon Brown was well positioned to chest his powerful drive off the line.

At the end of an entertaining first half Waldren came close with a shot that was well saved by Carey then Coombes had a free kick saved comfortably.

Four minutes after the break, Welling regained the lead. Fuseini fired in a shot that Carey couldn't hold and Pierre-Dubois followed up with his, and his team's second goal.

Gavin McCallum then fired a shot wide on the break but Welling continued to play impressive football without quite finding the cutting edge.

Fuseini had Carey back pedalling but his cheeky long range effort drifted just over.

Baptista tried his luck with a snap-shot that drifted wide.

Still the Wingss searched for the goal that would give them breathing space and from Morgan's cross, Coombes went for the spectacular with an overhead bicycle kick that went just wide.

Another piece of skill from Della-Verde created a shooting chance for Morgan and Carey made a great save to keep his team in the game.

Further Wings' pressure followed when Joseph-Dubois sent Coombes away and he created a shooting chance for himself but fired into the side netting.

In injury time, Welling claimed the all important third, again breaking quickly from an Eastbourne attack. Lewington under pressure, punched out a free kick and Fuseini led the break. Eventually, it was worked to substitute Dan Walker and he finished with an unstoppable drive.

Welling United: Lewington, Nelson, Brown, Fuseini, Francis, Hayles, Joseph-Dubois, Waldren, Morgan (Walker 87), Coombes, Della-Verde. Unused Substitutes: Johnson, Agu, Jackson, Slabber.
