After taking a two goal lead, Welling crumbled to another disappointing home defeat.

Whilst they looked good in attack, some of their defending was awful and they paid the price.

Having received international clearance earlier in the week, Dean Morgan was thrown straight into the Welling United starting line up with Dan Walker dropping to the bench.

Jake Robinson had an early shot for the Tudors that took a deflection but Chris Lewington was alert and made a comfortable save.

They then had a break away and might have done better but Sam Corcoran tried a cute chip that allowed Mitchell Nelson to get back and clear off the line.

That proved costly as Welling went ahead after just eleven minutes. Pierre Joseph-Dubois sprung an unimpressive offside trap, and drew Jamie Butler out before squaring for Morgan to mark his debut with a tap in.

It could have been two minutes later when Dubois caught Jack Kelly dithering but his quick chip drifted just over the angle of bar and post.

Adam Coombes then scored a spectacular second on 25 minutes. Having made space for himself in a wide area, he sidled in before firing a thunderbolt into the far corner.

Despite the double set back, the Tudors did not look dispirited and Nelson made a brave block from a Graeme Montgomery drive.

Trickery from Lyle Della-Verde almost produced a third as he rounded Butler but David King nicked it off his toes as he looked to roll it in.

Neither side made changes at the break and the Tudors came out quickly looking to get back into the game.

Lewington clawed away a dangerous free kick and Sean Francis' strong header kept out a threatening corner.

Danny Waldren then sent Della-Verde away and his excellent cross invited Joseph-Dubois to meet with a diving header that went down but bounced over.

Concerted Welling pressure then followed and Butler made a brilliant save from another powerful drive from Coombes.

Butler then made another great save minutes later when Ali Fuseini collected a half clearance only to see his goal-bound shot turned away.

Against the run of play, Hemel pulled one back when Jack Kelly dribbled his way through the defence and tucked home. Two minutes later the scores were level when the defence were all over the place and it bounced over Lewington for Robinson to slot home.

Robinson came close to putting the visitors ahead with a drive that went wide of the near post.

Rickie Hayles then headed over for Welling as the game became stretched.

Della-Verde fired over following good work from Dan Walker. Then Coombes had a great chance when feeding on a bad defensive header back but Butler made a great grab as the Wings' striker looked to round him.

As Welling went for the win it they got caught on the break and James Potton lobbed the onrushing Lewington with five minutes remaining.

That broke the Wings who are still yet to win a home point.
