Mark Goldberg admits he is resigned to the prospect of losing Moses Emmanuel to a bigger club after the striker scored once again during Saturday’s 3-1 loss to Altrincham.

Damian Reeves opened the scoring for Altrincham before Emmanuel equalized with his 16th goal of the season under the watchful gaze of the scouts in attendance.

However, the visitors emerged victorious, scoring twice in quick succession after the break through Josh O’Keefe and Reeves for his second of the match.

Speaking after Bromley’s first live televised match in their 123-year history, Goldberg conceded that while it is unlikely Emmanuel will remain at the club, his main concern surrounds his side’s defensive frailties.

He said: “I imagine that it’ll be difficult to keep hold of Moses, he scored another goal and he’s the leading goal scorer in the league.

“I’m more concerned at this moment in time about the way we’re conceding goals and we’ve got to turn that around.

“We’ve got to analyse the coverage of the game, see where we’re conceding and make sure we stamp out those mistakes.”

After struggling to gain control during the early stages of the game, Bromley came back strongly to finish the first-half the better of the two teams, producing a string of chances which should have handed them the lead.

But two defensive errors inside a minute of each other cost Bromley dearly as Altrincham raced into a two-goal lead just six minutes after the break.

“At half time we were bullish, we thought we could carry on the momentum from where we left off but for some reason we were naïve and we were playing the ball out too casually from the back,” added Goldberg.

“They took advantage of that and they took their chances well.”

The lack of defensive stability was not the only worry for Goldberg though, as Bromley’s wastefulness in front of goal added further concern when they struggled to add to their tally.

“It’s quite obvious that we created a lot of good goal scoring opportunities, the fact that we didn’t get two or three more to get ourselves back into the game is obviously disappointing but the truth is we can’t paint over the cracks. We can’t carry on conceding goals like that,” explained Goldberg.
