Bromley’s first visit to Yorkshire since 1951 ended in dramatic circumstances as Halifax mounted an astonishing injury time comeback to claim a draw at the death with Jordan Burrow’s emphatic penalty.

The three points looked to be heading south, with the away team leading 2-0 with 90 minutes on the clock thanks to goals from Moses Emmanuel and second half substitute Pierre Joseph-Dubois.

But the Shaymen made the most of the five minutes of injury time to somehow earn a point.

Bromley came into the game on a run of three successive defeats, but it quickly became clear they could get something from this game.

Their two wingers, Emmanuel and Anthony Cook, looked lively and switched flanks as they looked to bamboozle the home defence.

Emmanuel started on the right but was on the left when his right-footed effort clipped the crossbar.

Halifax became more comfortable as the half wore on, with Kingsley James an assured presence in the midfield and Sean Tuton causing Bromley left-back Joe Anderson plenty of problems.

The home side’s best chance of the half came when Burrow found himself one-on-one with Alan Julian but the Bromley keeper made a fine save.

Burrow also rattled the crossbar.

The key moment came on 61 minutes when Ravens boss Mark Goldberg made a double substitution, which was well received by the travelling support.

Bradley Goldberg and Ben May left the field and were replaced by Joseph-Dubois and Alex Wall.

The swaps allowed Emmanuel to play in the forward position where he has been most dangerous in his time at the club, while Wall was to set up both of Bromley’s goals.

The first came on 75 minutes when Cook picked up a clearance from the home defence and fed Wall.

Wall cut the ball back from the byline to Emmanuel, who lost his feet but kept his cool to finish into the bottom right corner.

As the 90th minute approached, Wall used his strength to hold off the defenders to play in Joseph-Dubois who was typically composed as he slotted a shot into the bottom corner.

The goal left the 73 travelling supporters ecstatic and looked certain to have sealed the win.

However, the Yorkshiremen had different ideas, taking huge inspiration from the addition of five minutes of injury time.

With three of those additional minutes gone, Connor Hughes smashed home past Julian from 25 yards.

It was a wonderful strike but quickly found itself overshadowed when Andy Bishop fell after contact from Jack Holland and the referee blew his whistle for a penalty.

Burrow made no mistake from the spot as the home crowd went wild.

All that remained was for a deflated Bromley to kick-off the game to the sound of the final whistle.

The Ravens will look to put this setback behind them when they host Dover at Hayes Lane on Saturday (3pm).
