Mark Goldberg insists Bromley will not need to significantly strengthen the squad to hold their own in the Conference National division next season.

Having gone up as champions from the Conference South to secure the club’s highest-ever status, the manager knows many expect them to struggle when faced with the likes of former Football League sides Halifax, Torquay, Wrexham and Tranmere.

Golderg said: “There is no doubt in my mind that the core, the strongest 11 or 12, are more than capable of competing at Conference level.

“I feel as though, with 46 games and all the travelling involved, we probably need to bring in about six or seven new players to add competition.

“To have gone up as champions is a wonderful feeling.

“It feels as though it is a great achievement to get the club into a place I has never been before.”

Goldberg added: “A lot of work has to go into looking to bring in players we think we need, to reinforce.

“It is not easy also trying to secure the players we already have and want to keep.

“I have not really had a chance to enjoy it, but I’m hoping to get away soon.

“By then I’m hoping we will have secured the core group for next season.”

Former Crystal Palace defender Jack Holland was voted supporters’ player of the year and was presented with the trophy at Bromley’s recent MyClubBetting.com awards night.

The defender, who proved instrumental in Bromley posting a league-low nine defeats in their 40 league games, also picked up the committee player of the year gong.

“Jack is definitely going to be a big part of the club’s future,” said Goldberg.

“He’s one of our key players and has had a tremendous year.”

Moses Ademola took the club’s golden boot award, his 15 Conference South goal haul having helped the Ravens to a league-high tally of 79 goals.

Midfielder Reece Prestedge, whose opener in a 3-0 win over Western-super-Mare paved the way for title celebrations with a game to spare, took the manager’s player of the year award.
