After two months on the treatment table, Crystal Palace midfielder Jordon Mutch says he is nearing full fitness.

The 23-year-old midfielder played 60 minutes of the Eagles' 1-0 defeat to Chelsea at the weekend, his first appearance since a 3-1 away at West Ham in February.

A thigh injury has meant the January signing from QPR has missed the past seven games, and the former Birmingham City man is hoping to feature in the remaining weeks.

He said: "It was great to be back on the pitch again, and to get 60 minutes. I was breathing heavy in the first 10 to 15 minutes to get used to the game.

Crystal Palace defender is feeling glad (all over) to be back

"I feel good and hopefully I can get more minutes under my belt in the up and coming games.

"The rehab has been really good and I feel in good shape, but obviously with the games you need match fitness, so I'm just trying to do that now."

Mutch moved across London for an undisclosed fee in January after finding opportunities limited at Loftus Road.

He made only 11 appearances for Rangers in a six-month spell, but the midfielder is likely to play a part in Palace's three tough remaining fixtures.

The Eagles welcome Manchester United to Selhurst Park tomorrow, followed by a trip to Anfield to face Liverpool, before ending the season at home against Swansea City.
